We enjoyed seeing a new place/area of spain and the hotel was comfortable
The food was lovely in the hotel. A great choice each meal and really delicious. It would have been useful if there were signs on the dishes eg for allergies/vegetarian etc The hotel was very clean throughout It was good that there were enough sunbeds, as people were not allowed to leave towels on them for hours, when not using them. This can often be a problem on holiday, but it was good to know here that there would be some available when you came off the beach.
I guess our children didn't feel like it was easy to ask about the children's club/activities, as their Spanish is limited, so didn't really get involved this year in this, which they usually love. We didn't see all inclusive as an option (that I remember) when we booked and you are at a disadvantage here if you are not all inclusive, as there is a lot extra for people with wristbands. We were pulled up by security one day, by the pool, when entering the hotel from the back door (off the beach). They thought we had got into the hotel pool and were not guests, as we had no wristbands on and asked us questions/checked with reception, to see if we were telling the truth. This wasn't a great experience for us, as we felt like we had done something wrong, but I understand they must have to check this with people from time to time. We booked for 4 children and 2 adults, but when we arrived, they had only got a reservation for 2 children/adults. This was quickly resolved and a pop up bed was put in each room, however, we had requested 11 months before to have the rooms next to each other, which they were not and we didn't have a sea view which I also requested. The mix up with the reservation was however, Boooking.com, who had not communicated the correct information sadly.

What was the highlight of Occidental Isla Cristina
Great Hotel with a good vibe, nice food and I would definitely return.
The entertainment was absolutely great. The location being so close to the beach was also lovely. The facilities were also good.
We paid for ‘all inclusive’ only for not everything to actually be included. I was shocked to find that when I asked for an ice cream at the bar they told us it wasn’t included in our package.
